De-Stress In Less Than Half-an-Hour

mindfulness_wellness_warrior.jpgNot that we’ve ever doubted the power of meditation to keep us calm and grounded, but it is always nice when a scientific study corroborates what we already know.

Researchers from Carnegie Mellon conducted an experiment that compared stress responses in relation to performing stressful activities (giving a speech or doing math in front of evaluators) of subjects who had received mindfulness meditation training to those who had not received the training. The results showed that both through self-reporting, and through biological testing, the subjects who received the mindfulness meditation training experienced less stress in stressful situations.
