A refreshing, sugar-free lemonade that’s keto-friendly! This Keto Basil Lemonade combines zesty lemon and aromatic basil with a keto-approved sweetener. Perfect for summer days, BBQs, or anytime you need a low-carb, guilt-free drink. Hydrating and packed with flavor, this lemonade is as easy to make as it is delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 56 lemons)
  • 34 tbsp keto-friendly sweetener (such as stevia, monk fruit, or erythritol)
  • 1 handful fresh basil leaves (about 810 leaves)
  • 4 cups water (sparkling water optional for a fizzy twist)
  • Ice cubes (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  • Juice the Lemons: Squeeze fresh lemons until you have about 1 cup of juice. Roll lemons on the counter before juicing to get the most juice.
  • Sweeten the Lemonade: In a large pitcher, mix the lemon juice with your chosen sweetener. If using a granulated sweetener like erythritol, dissolve it in a bit of warm water first to prevent grittiness.
  • Add Basil: Lightly smack basil leaves between your hands to release oils, then add them to the pitcher.
  • Chill: Let the lemonade sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes for the basil to infuse.
  • Serve: Pour over ice, garnish with extra basil or a lemon slice, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Sweetness: Adjust sweetener to taste. Start small and add more if needed.
  • Variations: Try adding a few mint leaves or a slice of ginger for extra flavor.
  • Storage: Store leftover lemonade in the fridge for up to 2 days.
