A bold and refreshing keto black margarita made with activated charcoal, fresh lime, and zero sugar. Low in carbs, big on flavor, and perfect for parties or quiet nights.

Ingredients

Scale

For one drink:

  • 2 oz silver (blanco) tequila

  • 1 oz fresh lime juice (about 1 large lime)

  • ½ oz sugar-free simple syrup (see notes)

  • ⅛ tsp activated charcoal powder (food grade)

  • Ice

  • Salt + lime zest (for rimming the glass)

  • Lime wedge (for garnish, optional)

Sugar-Free Simple Syrup:

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup allulose or monk fruit sweetener

Instructions

  • Make sugar-free syrup: Heat water and sweetener in a small pan until fully dissolved. Cool and store in the fridge.

  • Rim the glass: Rub a lime wedge around the glass rim, then dip into a mix of salt and lime zest.

  • Mix the drink: In a cocktail shaker, add tequila, lime juice, syrup, and activated charcoal.

  • Add ice and shake: Fill shaker with ice, shake hard for 15 seconds.

  • Strain and serve: Pour into a glass filled with fresh ice.

  • Garnish (optional): Add a lime wedge on the rim.

Notes

  • Don’t use more than ⅛ tsp of charcoal per drink or it gets too dark and gritty.

  • Keep tequila in the freezer for a colder drink.

  • Sugar-free syrup can be stored for 2 weeks in the fridge.

  • You can batch this in a pitcher for a group (see article).
