Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries (or thawed frozen blackberries)
  • ½ cup fresh lemon juice (about 34 lemons)
  • 45 fresh basil leaves
  • 3 cups cold water
  • ½ cup ice (for serving)
  • ¼ cup keto-friendly sweetener (monk fruit, erythritol, or allulose)
  • Optional: Sparkling water (for a fizzy version)

Instructions

  • Muddle the blackberries and basil in a bowl until the berries are broken down and juicy.
  • Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher to remove seeds (optional).
  • Squeeze the lemons and add the fresh lemon juice to the blackberry mixture.
  • Dissolve the sweetener in a little warm water, then stir it into the lemonade.
  • Add cold water and mix well. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  • Serve over ice and enjoy! Add sparkling water if you want a fizzy version.

Notes

  • If you prefer a stronger basil flavor, add more leaves.
  • Letting the lemonade chill in the fridge for an hour makes the flavors even better.
  • Turn it into a cocktail by adding vodka or gin for a keto-friendly mixed drink.
  • Store in the fridge for up to 3 days. Stir before serving.
