Keto Moroccan Spiced Lamb Meatballs Recipe

Juicy lamb meatballs spiced with warm Moroccan flavors, simmered in a rich tomato sauce. Perfect for anyone on a keto diet. Easy to make, low carb, and packed with flavor.

For the meatballs:

  • 500g ground lamb

  • 1 small onion, grated

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp ground coriander

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • ½ tsp ground ginger

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tbsp almond flour

  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley or cilantro

For the sauce:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: chili flakes or cayenne

Instructions

  • Mix all meatball ingredients in a large bowl. Use your hands for best results.

  • Roll into balls (about 16–18).

  • Heat oil in a skillet and brown the meatballs in batches. Don’t overcrowd.

  • Remove meatballs and set aside.

  • In the same pan, add more oil if needed and sauté garlic for the sauce.

  • Stir in spices, then add crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper.

  • Simmer the sauce for 5 minutes.

  • Add the meatballs back in.

  • Cover and cook on low for 15–20 minutes until done.

  • Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Serve with cauliflower rice, lettuce wraps, or zucchini noodles.

  • Leftovers taste even better the next day.
