Homemade Keto Heart-Shaped Bread

Soft, buttery keto heart-shaped bread that’s low in carbs, easy to make, and perfect for any occasion! This low-carb bread has a crisp crust, fluffy center, and no yeast required. A great treat for the keto diet, especially when paired with keto-friendly wine.

For the Bread:

  • 2 cups almond flour
  • ¼ cup coconut flour
  • 1 tbsp psyllium husk powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or olive oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup warm water
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella

For Topping (Optional):

  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • Pinch of garlic powder or dried herbs

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl: almond flour, coconut flour, psyllium husk, baking powder, and salt.
Add wet ingredients: melted butter, eggs, apple cider vinegar, and warm water. Stir until a dough forms. Mix in shredded mozzarella.
Shape into hearts: Divide dough into 6 pieces, roll into balls, flatten, and shape into hearts with your fingers or a cookie cutter.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder or dried herbs.
Cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • To freeze, wrap each bread piece and reheat in the oven when needed.
  • Dairy-free option: Replace mozzarella with nutritional yeast and butter with olive oil.
  • For a softer texture, add an extra tablespoon of coconut flour if skipping psyllium husk.
